Rebellious Wedding Idea: How to Plan a Cost-Efficient Batanes Wedding

Photography by Jayson and Joanne Arquiza unless labeled otherwise
Brace yourself for the most detailed Batanes Wedding Guide you'll read yet! When my husband and I went to Batanes last month, I was asked by a friend who is a soon-to-be-Batanes-bride to research for her on how she can efficiently plan her wedding. And because I'm just proactively dorky by nature, I took to heart my mission and even conceptualized an itinerary and budget for her (maybe it just feels natural since we've been doing The Wedding Agency Service for almost 2 years now).

We constantly get questions about Batanes weddings, so I decided to share here in the blog what I conceptualized for my friend (but with a few minor tweaks). Think of this as a free Wedding Agency consultancy write-up! To visualize this imaginary Batanes wedding, I'll be including here some of our Instagram photos from our own trip but we'd also like to feature a beautiful Batanes wedding as photographed by Jayson & Joanne Arquiza  because it's probably the most incredible Batanes wedding we've seen to date.

John & Joyce
THE PROs and CONs

So are you toying with the idea of having a Batanes wedding? Let's do a quick PROs and CONs first, shall we?

What are the PROs? Well....need we say more? 1) Batanes is one of the most beautiful places in the Philippines--it's so beautiful, you won't believe it's still part of our country!, 2) Locals are few, tourists are limited, weddings all the more rare--so if you are a stickler for privacy and the feeling of exclusivity then this is really the place for you!, 3) Being in Batanes is like being in a whole other world. And if you were the type to dream of getting married in a stone chapel on a hill, this is where you can fulfill that dream.

What are the CONs? 1) The flights are expensive. As in roughly P17,000 per head during peak and around P11,000 per head during off-peak (via AirPhil), 2) It's also a remote location. You cannot create a big, lavish wedding here--so if that's what you want, maybe Batanes is not the venue for you. Batanes is more for an intimate wedding, with natural details. The ideal number of guests is only around 50, and note that guests will have to shoulder their airfares and hotels so it can get pretty expensive for everyone (unless you are willing to shoulder everyone's expenses, that's definitely not going to be budget-friendly anymore), 3) They say that Batanes weather is super unpredictable so it can get tricky to choose the perfect month. But we personally didn't experience this ourselves. I'm actually beginning to think that this is a misconception owing to my own experience and owing to what the Ivatans have told us. I say, wherever you go the weather can get tricky--even in Manila and even in Boracay. So just attract positivity and pray for good weather (pray to St. Medard, the patron saint of good weather!)

So how can you conceptualize a cost-efficient Batanes wedding? First of all, when we say cost-efficient we don't mean to say that you are totally going to scrimp on the wedding elements. For a budget of around P500,000 this is our concept for you--and it's a perfect balance between having the beautiful wedding details that you could possibly have given the remote location and given a reasonable budget. We also say that this is a reasonable budget because we know of previous Batanes weddings that costed millions to mount. So for this to be in the 500k range, is pretty amazing. So let's start!

PROPOSED WEDDING DAY FLOW

Ceremony at Tukon , 10:00AM – 11:00AM
The Tukon Chapel (Chapel on a Hill) has got to be one of the most beautiful churches I have seen in my life. It's quaint, it's made of stone, and there are wonderful frescoes on the ceiling and in the middle of the altar. The view here is breathtaking, it's the dreamiest possible wedding ceremony location made to come alive.
Photos taken from my Blackberry

Pictorials after the Ceremony at Tukon & Fundacion, 11:00AM to 12:00NN, Lunch Reception at Fundacion, 12:00nn to 2:00PM

From my Instagram Account @rebelliousbridekai
Imagine having pictorials with this as your backdrop! Fundacion Pacita du Tukon is the best place to stay in Batanes, and it is also the best place to have your lunch reception. Why is it the best besides the fact that it is the only high-end lodging option in the island? Well, it is situated on a hill where it has a view of all the best landmarks of Batanes--including Rakuh aka Marlboro Country and the Lighthouse. It also has an open view of the Pacific Ocean.

We recommend lunch just because that's when the views are absolutely gorgeous. You won't be able to take in the view in the evening so we have another suggestion for that later. The Fundacion is already very beautiful on its own. It has its own eclectic vibe contributing to the fact that it is home to the works of National Artist Pacita Abad, and also serves as a quasi workshop/school for Ivatan Artists. There really is literally no reason for you to style it any further.

Couple’s Pictorials at Boulder Bay, Marlboro Country, & Rolling Hills *Option for guests to join for tour & pictorials or option for guests to rest, 2:30PM to 4:30PM

Batanes has heavenly views, making it the most picture-prefect place to have your couple's photos. But since you are going to be busy with the wedding day, plus you need to save up your energy, and not to mention you are in your wedding outfits, you'll have to carefully select and limit the locations for your shoots. The Boulder Bay, The Marlboro Country (Rakuh) and the Rolling Hills will be your best options.

Seafood Cocktail Party at the Lighthouse/Bunker *Sunset party, 5:00PM – onwards

Now this is why we moved cocktails/dinner to another venue besides Fundacion. Fundacion is perfect for lunch because the views there are perfect for daytime. Now to get the most breathtaking sunset and star-gazing experience in the island, we recommend heading on over the Lighthouse/Bunker.

FARM-TO-TABLE IVATAN FARE

So now maybe you're wondering, what kind of food exactly is available in Batanes? Why, Ivatan food of course! And it's one of my absolute favorite foodie experiences (I miss it badly!). Ivatan food is naturally organic--all meats are free range and all the ingredients are incredibly fresh. It's a haven for food lovers! You cannot even begin to imagine how simple the food is but then every dish is just bursting with flavor! Here's our proposed menus:

Fundacion Lunch, Family Style (good for up to 80 servings)

Appetizer: Paco Salad served with Ivatan Kamote (40 orders per dish, for sharing)
Main Courses: Lunis and Grilled Sirloin Steak w/ Rice (40 orders per dish, for sharing)
--- Believe me when I say that this is a very heavy lunch and it's sooooooo good. I miss it already! Drinks & Desserts are quite limited, so you might have to bring.
Total for Lunch Reception w/o Drinks & Desserts  + 5% Service Charge and 12% VAT = P49,842 **No other charges apply

Bunker Seafood Cocktails (good for up to 80 servings)

Dish 1: Tanigue Steak with Mango & Wasabi Mayo Sauce (40 orders, for sharing)
Dish 2: Milk Crab Dish (40 orders, for sharing)
Dish 3: Turon w/ Special Sauce (40 orders, for sharing)
*Orders are inclusive of 1 round of soup & iced tea
*Serve Spanish Wine & Specialty Beers (you'll have to bring)
Total for Food  + 5% Service Charge and 12% VAT = P20,214

GRAND TOTAL FOR FOOD (LUNCH & COCKTAIL/DINNER)
P70,056 ***No other charges apply, no venue fees, etc.

THE P500,000 BATANES WEDDING

Here’s a suggested supplier list that can give you the perfect balance of being cost-efficient but without compromising beautiful wedding elements. Again, we are not aiming to give you a low-cost wedding--which you can do if you take out some elements we've included here. But we are aiming for a beautiful balance. After all, it's still a once-in-a-lifetime wedding and you still deserve to work with some of the best in the industry.

1. Reception (Food for Lunch at Fundacion, Seafood Cocktail Dinner at the Bunker)
2. Ceremony at the Tukon inclusive of Fees + Priest
3. Beverage Budget: Assuming Rene Barbier Spanish Wines, Katipunan Craft Beers, and
Bayani Brews Iced Tea (you'll have to ship this in advance)
4. Dessert Budget/Cake: Assuming Joy San Gabriel (you'll have to bring it with you)
5. Gown: Assuming Clayton of the Cecilio Abad Design Team

TIP! Batanes is a remote location and there's very limited dessert option. Consider commissioning Joy San Gabriel to create cupcakes and miniature cakes for your wedding. Just because you're on a budget doesn't mean you have to scrimp on desserts! / Get Vidal Clayton of the Cecilio Abad Design Team. Hyds Cecilio is donning a gorgeous bohemian-inspired wedding gown that has just the right hint of drama. (Photo by Jayjay Lucas)

6. Suit: Assuming Boy Kastner Santos or Linea Italia
7. Non-floral props: Assuming {etc} Handmade Goodness
8. Makeup Artist: Assuming The Makeup of Mica (Bride Only + Inclusive of Out-Town-Fee)
9. Wedding Coordinator: There's no need --
Just get Fundacion or a local coordinator/project manager to help you for OTD.
10. Singer/Host: Just get friends to do it
11. Entourage Gowns: Just allow them to wear their own

TIP! Batanes is abundant with natural styling, including freshly picked flowers. But find the perfect balance between what's available in the island and what you can add to create personalized stylish details. Commission {etc} Handmade Goodness to create a non-floral bouquet for you. Add other props based on your personality such as: thumbprint guestbooks, ring pillow, flower girl basket, etc. etc. (Photo lifted from {etc}'s FB page) /Most Batanes brides have opted to do their own makeup since it's expensive to fly-in so many suppliers. But in case you have zero makeup know-how, consider getting RB Mica's team, The Makeup of Mica because we can always work out a flexible rate for you! (Photo by Pat Dy)

12. Hotel Accommodations for couple + suppliers for 2 nights
*Assuming you are staying in Fundacion Pacita du Tukon on an OFF-PEAK SEASON
13.  Airfare for couple + suppliers: Assuming via AirPhil  on an OFF-PEAK SEASON
(for 8 pax only--note that suppliers have a full team but try to negotiate not having a
full team given the circumstances. It's an intimate wedding anyway so your 8 pax
consists of the couple + 6 heads from your wedding team)
14. Basic Basco Tour for 8 pax (for couple’s pictorial with wedding team)
15. Photography: Assuming Jayson & Joanne Arquiza (Service Only Fee)
16. Videographer: Assuming Sequence by Sequence
17. Wedding Bands: Assuming Tungsten Carbide Rings
18. E-invite & Monogram Illustration: Assuming The Fozzy Book
(Go Green! No to paper invitations!)
19. Miscellaneous Fees

GRAND TOTAL SO FAR: P500,000*
*Detailed budget breakdown is reserved for Wedding Agency Clients Only

Other expenses in case you want to add or in case you have extra budget to spare:
1. Souvenirs (Preferably local goodies that you can give to your guests)
2. Upgrade Videography with: Jason Magbanua (As my husband once said: "Every place in the world needs a Jason Magbanua video")

MORE CEREMONY OPTIONS!

If you don't necessarily need to be married in a church, there are tons of picturesque backdrops to choose from in Batanes! Can you imagine saying your vows, professing your love in marriage at the Marlboro Country? Or how about in the Lighthouse? It might be difficult to mount though so consider just having a basic, simple ceremony--after all, what's the point of styling the place when you are already in Batanes?

OTHER NOTES:

1. Fundacion Pacita du Tukon does not have wedding packages, nor do they charge venue fees. They basically plan everything for you if your reception is going to be there. They can also help organize your wedding ceremony at Tukon (because they own this chapel). And if you stay there,  they can even be the one to organize your cocktails at Bunker and give you free shuttle services. Here’s the contact details: Proto (manager’s name) 09399016353 / 09382520942

2.  We don’t see a reason to pay for your guest’s tours and you are not required to do so anyway. We suggest for you to just think of a good souvenir for everyone. But if you really want to provide a tour, contact Dwight at 0908254321

3. Try to adjust your wedding date based on when you can get good airfare deals. Monitor airfares from AirPhil and Sky Jet. Peak seasons are from December to May. But consider the following off-peak months instead: Not a lot of people know this but the first week of June is still Summer, October is called "Little Summer" because it gets pretty hot before winter, November is actually the start of winter---

SPEAKING of winter, how amazingly odd is it that you can actually have a winter wedding in the Philippines? Sounds unheard of right? But you actually can in Batanes! Because it is closer to Taiwan and because of its location, it is the only place in the Philippines that has winter. It doesn't snow but the temperature goes below zero so Fall or Winter Wedding Ideas are actually doable in Batanes! Here are some pegs from my uber fave blog, Green Wedding Shoes! :)

http://greenweddingshoes.com/inspiration-board-50-glamorous-dark-purple/
Deciding to have a Batanes wedding is definitely not for the faint of heart--just because the venue itself kind of forces you to accept non-traditional wedding rules. But we are finding it quite refreshing to know that more and more brides are exploring this option and that's why we thought of creating this special feature for you. May you find this useful! Batanes may be quite on the difficult and pricey side--but it's worth it. Very, very worth it.

I was a ‪#‎glee‬ fan once. So much so that my bridal entrance was actually a mash-up of VSQ and Glee's version of Somebody To Love. And we also did a Glee Weddding Idea once, too! So am I affected of this news? Oh yes, indeed. RIP Finn. Knowing that Cory & Lea were ENGAGED is even more heartbreaking!

Today x Future - A Punk Rock Feature

Photography by Carlo & Hyds Cecilio of ImagineNation
Designer Joseph Montelibano of Project Runway Philippines fame and Carlo Cecilio of ImagineNation have a juicy treat for us, little rebels. On their recent collaborative concept shoot that is definitely anything but traditional, I can't help but wonder if we will ever reach that point where real weddings are done this way--and done in organically raw venues like this. I hope that one day it will come.

Inspired by this year's MET Gala theme, Punk Rock, Joseph interpreted this into a high fashion-meets-emotional take as in the lives of Sid and Nancy Vicious.

The shoot was also a playful experiment on rebelliously transforming a classic beauty such as Bb. Pilipinas Angelia Ong and putting her in a grungy vibe that is Today x Future.

What say you, rebel brides? Are you bold enough to create a wedding that doesn't necessarily have to be big and done in the usual venues?

Pia + Eugene's Lovebirds Wedding

"I personally think that pulling off a destination wedding scores a perfect 10 in the level of difficulty in terms of logistics, budget, and execution. But the greater challenge during our preparations was when my mom succumbed to cancer, 3 months before our big day. I believe no bride-to-be should ever experience such triple stress and difficult emotional situation (not to mention dealing with the "pamahiins" of not pushing through with the wedding because it would be bad luck). But I kept calm and carried on what I believed my mom would have thought would be best for me."

Rebellious Bride Pia on the Challenges of Planning Her Rebellious Wedding

Pia and Eugene wanted a destination wedding where they could have an intimate wedding for just a party of fifty guests. The couple was smitten by Bellaroca and instantly knew they found their perfect wedding venue. Since they wanted a relaxed vibe, they complemented the island with an offbeat theme of "Lovebirds". Think bird's nests, charming colors as in the pastel-colored feathers of the Lovebirds, pretty calligraphy/illustrations, bird houses galore, non-floral elements, and twigs. The result of which was exactly what the couple wanted--a relaxed, 'chirpy' wedding with a light and happy feeling.

Congratulations Pia & Eugene and may you find inner strength and positivity in your marriage, the same way you made it through in your charming wedding.

While scheming through the pages of Wedding Lab, I noticed a section for "Power Couples" so I got curious and clicked on June's Power Couple of the Month. And I'm glad I did because I discovered this lighthearted McDo-inspired Save-the-Date Video! Take a look!

DEX CAYENNE STD from Arnold Mendoza on Vimeo.

Apart from Dex and Cayenne's video, I loved the simple but thoughtful details in their wedsite such as the little quiz about the couple right at the left panel of the page and of course--the registry!

Since the couple lived abroad and had no access to physical store-based gift registries, Wedding Lab's symbolical and cash-based online registry definitely helped them a lot. Not only did a relative gift them with a honeymoon fund through the registry facility, but it also helped inform guests what to give the couple on the day of the wedding.

Be the next Wedding Lab Power Couple and we might just spot you and feature you here in RB as well! Visit http://www.weddinglab.ph/ to register! :)

Brides In Waiting - A Quirky Creatives Editorial Feature

$

I love that more and more creative wedding talents are collaborating to share with everyone their various points of view. What's even more exciting is that the ideas are becoming bolder and quite interesting!

Brides In Waiting. What a simple idea that it's actually right under our noses--yet no one seemed to have thought about it 'till now. Indeed, creativity is in the simplicity.

Veering away from the usual "posy-posy" glam shoot, Noel Salazar of Quirky Creatives and Nio Manzano joined forces to create an editorialized version of the ordinary things that happen during Bridal Preps.

How was your own bridal preps like? Or if you are a bride-to-be, how do you envision your preps to unfold and complement your entire mood on your wedding day? Mine was just as rebellious as the wedding. Not only did I hang out with my husband and had spa treatments together with him, but I did not allow my photog and videog to hover over me. The cheesiest happy songs blared in our villa, and my girls (only my girl friends were with me during the preps) and I were in the chill zone for hours, we almost ran out of time haha! RB Mica on the other hand, wanted the solitude of her own company--not only did she do her own makeup all alone, she walked around Legazpi Village Makati with nobody else but her photogs in tow for some selfies.

We are ecstatic to know that like-minded rebellious talents entrust us with their own material to feature in the blog. We believe that ideas are for everyone to share so that it can touch as many people's lives as possible. We don't care about which blog featured first or any of that exclusivity shit. So if you also have collab concept shoots, keep them coming!

Joanne and Richard - Beyond the Smokes and Mirrors

Summon To Love : Joanne and Richard from Mayad Studios on Vimeo.

Just one look at Joanne and Richard's engagement sessions and you'll probably get to the same conclusion as us that this is one glamorous, beautiful couple. But what we particularly admired the most was the email we received from Joanne (which was sent to us in confidence so we'll keep the finer details in private).

How seemingly easy enough it was that Richard summoned the courage to walk up to her in a restaurant to introduce himself. How this simple introduction lead to a challenging relationship which they rebelliously tried to deflect. How the very concepts of their prenups intentionally left out the usual grand props to give focus more on lived-in locations with the most interesting of tiles, walls, columns, and available props. No. this prenup, and this very love story go beyond the smokes and mirrors. Joanne and Richard aren't the poster couple for being rebellious in the obvious of definitions but they are rebellious in how they feel and think. And beyond the smokes and mirrors, they are rebellious in their resilient spirits.

Joanne writes: Basically, we wanted to be "uniquely rebellious" without totally being out of character.  We were being rebellious by avoiding the norm - out of town location (with wide shots where the face of the couple can no longer be seen), sexy shoots, and artsy photoshoot that most couples do nowadays.  We did a lot of research and found this old house in Manila that was turned into a gallery.  We did not make use of additional props because the place was already full of different furniture, plates, bed frames, etc.  Pat Dy (our talented photographer), known for making wedding editorial shoots, really made use of the natural lighting and elements.  It just looked like we were taking photos in our own "vintage" home.   Even without nature in our midst, he gave us photos we can look at with pride 10 years down the line.

Joanne on their Mayad Video: As for our prenup video, we just went with the suggestion of our director.  Raphael Jamil Pranga also known as Fiel, the leader of the directing pack and founder of Mayad Studios, wanted something romantic and elegant that can be shot within the Metropolis. Though most of the videos I like were destination weddings, we took the risk and got Metro Manila locations to see how well they can do without the pristine beach, overlooking scenery, and the like.  We went to 3 locations:  National Museum, San Agustin Museum and W Condo.

Here in Rebellious Brides, we've always said that prenups need not be overly complicated. Sometimes, all you need is to discover venues that are naturally decorated on its own. Simple w/ a Twist. That's what we said before in our Prenup Workshop Blog! Joanne, Richard, and their star-studded team ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT. Just...NAILED IT!

As we bid good-bye to July, we'd like to end this month by showing you a preview of what coulda, shoulda, woulda been our anniversary shoot special...but alas, the official photos have yet to make an appearance (baka na shipwreck na din ang photographers?!?!).

Yes, as some of you may have remembered, July is Rebellious Brides' anniversary month. We've reached our TERRIBLE TWOs--woot! So what is the state of our rebellion? When we sought out to create this blog, our cause was simple: to create a community where we can fight for your dream weddings. Have we achieved this? We think we have--and so much more. There are times when we get tempted to stop blogging. Haha. But now we've realized that we owe a lot to our dear readers, and that we need to continue fighting the good fight.

So happy anniversary
to all of us, rebels!

So when will this hot Temptation Island inspired shoot ever come out? Your guess is as good as mine. Sayaw nalang tayo. ATTACK!

Viel & Jen's Escolta Meets Gatsby Prenup

Photography by Bethoven Filomeno
Well hello there, August! It's been months since we went into roaring 20s mode but it looks like the Gatsby fever is still in full swing, old sports! Jen sent us a very well-written feature about their ideas so I'll let her take you through it now!

"Viel and I have been a couple for 10 years, being together this long we have grown to love the same things yet still be unique individually. One of the things that we both love are classic-themed movies and music.

When we got engaged and started planning for our wedding, we wanted something that is not kind of unusual to the people around us. Then the idea of having a 1920’s/Art Deco/Great Gatsby theme dawned on me and Viel without any hesitation loved it! We both are fans of The Godfather, Gangsters of New York, Public Enemies, Boardwalk Empire and Great Gatsby. We got excited with the idea of our friends and families dressing up for our wedding.

We were so into the theme that we wanted to stick to and go for the 1920’s/Art Deco/Great Gatsby all the way! From our prenup shoot, to our invitations, venue, music, decors, wedding website, favors, attires, wedding gown, and Viel’s suit. I extensively researched and looked for inspirations online (including your website) just to make sure every detail of our wedding would remind our guests, from start to finish, of  the 1920s.
Although most of the details were Western weddings-inspired; we made sure to showcase our country’s share of this glorious era by having our prenup shoot at Calle Escolta, the once busy artery of commerce in Manila, and the “it” place during those times. Escolta, also, was the shopping capital of the rich and the privileged Filipinos

We had so much help from my sister, Hazel Sta. Ana (who styled and conceptualized the story board) and her two good friends: Daryl Linn Lozano (HMUA) and Bethoven Filomeno (Photographer), to make this 1920s-themed Prenup shoot into reality.
During the shoot, we were awed by the beauty of the art noveau/art deco buildings that lined the street of Escolta, some were restored and some were, unfortunately, have been forsaken.

In between shoots we were talking about what was it is like during its majestic days and we hoped that it could be restored since it can be a major tourist destination in Manila besides Binondo or China Town. I hope our prenup shoot would inspire people to bring back the life Escolta once had."

PS. I'm addicted to your site!

Our friends over at Simply Bridal shared with us this wonderful infographic on how to incorporate "something old" to your wedding. But what I love about this infographic is that it's not traditional per se. There are a lot of modern ideas here on how to update this so-called rule/superstition so that you guys can be more creative about it. Enjoy!

"Rebellious brides are not your average brides. They go beyond their own expectations. They're made of sugar, spice and everything in between. These brides want more than just a sweet wedding cake, they want it mouth-watering. These brides want more than just a long white wedding dress, they want it apart from the ordinary and something they can call their own, representing their identity as a woman. These brides want more than just ringing bells, flying doves, golden rings and balloons, they want fireworks. Rebellious brides know exactly what they want and how they want to do it."

-- The Blacktieproject on their definition of the Rebellious Bride
We will be honest with you guys because our readers deserve nothing but honesty. We are NOT fans of getting one group to do the photo/video. We think it's very lazy to do this as a default and it is a marketing tactic for you to think that you are getting your money's worth. We also think that just because a team can do both, doesn't mean they can do it good. So to be honest, we barely recommend consolidation---we don't---EXCEPT for one group. EXCEPT for The Blacktieproject.

QABIL / AYLA [sde video] from blacktieproject on Vimeo.

We don't know them personally, mind you. But whether it's just for photography or for photo+video, we always recommend them to our clients as an option. Why? Because based on our own research, own evaluation, and based on previously featured brides in the blog, they are worth it. Not only do they do both photo and video superbly well, but they are highly professional. And for that, we think that it's about time they've landed our Rebellious Bunch List. The works that we've curated here is a testament to the beautiful work that Blacktie does. There was no particular order in how we put it here. We just basically got all our favorite works. But somehow this turned out very cohesive...maybe because their work itself is consistently well done, from one love story to another.

"By definition our style is classy and contemporary. Our team is composed of individuals who have their own styles. These naturally talented people are entitled to the world of artistic freedom and not required to fit into a mould. What makes us different? We don't underestimate anything. For us, everything must be exemplary work. Getting into the details is one thing, getting into the details with heart and soul is something." -- The Blacktieproject

We are equally passionate about pushing for the talents that we truly believe in just as much as we are passionate with the kind of wedding belief systems that we write about in the blog. And with that being said, we are happy to welcome The Blacktieproject into our Rebellious Bunch List.

Marianne & John's Behind-the-Scenes Prenup

Marianne & John Engagement Shoot BTS from Joanna Eduardo on Vimeo.

When Marianne submitted to us their prenup, we liked the fact that she put more focus on their behind-the-scenes video. To her and John, the BTS was worthy of its own feature because it captured so much more facets of the prenup itself. And we couldn't agree more!

We are fans of BTS shoots! In fact in our own respective weddings, RB Mica and I had second teams to capture the behind-the-scene moments as well. Sometimes, it's as simple as getting a friend, relative, or new talents who are more than willing to do it as a gift or to build their own portfolios. But a word of caution. Having several teams hovering over you can get ugly. Sometimes, there are also photogs/videogs who are uncomfortable with having other teams around just because it means that the space and time allotted to shoot with you becomes even more limited and challenging than it already is(especially when the time is already tight to begin with). So don't get a BTS team if there's too many in your wedding team's respective head counts or maybe assign your BTS team to cover other aspects of the preps besides you and your groom.

Here's more from Marianne:

"We thought that prenup photos were not enough to capture the moments. That is why we came up up with a "behind the scenes" video  to document the shoot. In doing so, it gave us a wider perspective on how our team worked hard to have the perfect moments, photo after photo. It made us become more appreciative."

Hello there rebels! Last week, our awesome friends from Simply Bridal shared with us an infographic on how to be a little bit more rebellious with the "something old" tradition. This time around, they shared with us a wonderful "something new" infographic that is all about going digital and hence, being more eco-friendly! Love this to bits! :)

"In this technology driven era, make your something new cutting edge and completely electronic! Not only will you be reducing your carbon footprint but also partaking in an eco-friendly world." -- www.SimplyBridal.com

Done something similar to what was shared in the infographic? Tell us all about it! We'd love to feature! :)
